NORTH WEST CHAMPIONSHIPS STRICT RULES STATEMENT 2016
From the Promoter please read
WITHDRAWALS FROM HEATS
Swimmers and teams, or their representatives, must withdraw at least one hour before the start of the session if they do not intend to swim. There will be no refund of entry fees for such withdrawals unless the withdrawal is for medical reasons in which case an appropriate certificate must be provided. Any swimmer who has previously withdrawn can be reinstated before the appropriate closing deadline without penalty.
Withdrawals can be made by:
1. email to [email protected] Please quote each event individually - this makes my life so much easier - rather than "XXX is withdrawing from all events on Saturday and Sunday". 2. completing a "heats withdrawal" form that will be available on the day
3. text 07731-854-239 giving name, club and event from which they are withdrawing (again quoting each event individually rather than "XXX is withdrawing from all events on Saturday and Sunday").
One of the busiest times in the Timing Suite is the couple of hours before the swimming starts. If individual events are quoted this saves us time in hunting through the programme for the swimmer and identifying the events he/she is withdrawing from.
Using any of the above methods means that I have a record of the withdrawal.
PLEASE DO NOT TELEPHONE WITHDRAWALS TO ME Any swimmer who does not withdraw from the heats and then does not swim will be subject to a £20 fine. (The regional Swimming Management Group have insisted that fines are imposed to stop an increasing tendency of some swimmers to ignore this competition condition.)
WITHDRAWALS FROM FINALS When all of the heats have been completed in an event, an announcement will be made about which swimmers have qualified for the final of that event and which swimmers are reserve finalists.
Any finalist or reserve finalist who DOES NOT intend to compete in a final MUST complete a withdrawal form within 15 minutes of the heats result being announced/published.
Any withdrawals after the 15 minute cut-off time will be subject to a £20 fine. (Again, the regional Swimming Management Group have insisted that fines are imposed to stop an increasing tendency of some swimmers to ignore this competition condition.)
Withdrawal Forms will be available on the day.
Withdrawals after the 15 minute deadline may only be made on medical grounds. Any swimmer who withdraws from a heat or from a final of any event on medical grounds will not be allowed to compete again on the same day.
Finalists and reserves MUST report for marshalling for their final UNLESS THEY HAVE WITHDRAWN.
Any finalist or reserve who fails to report for marshalling for a final (unless they have previously withdrawn) shall be fined £20 and may be subject to disciplinary action.
Each ‘no show’ may be subject to a separate fine of £20.
Fines will be levied on the club which enters a competitor unless the Championship Manager has been advised of any change to the membership status of a competitor.
